Los Muertos: A Celebration of Life is a annual event celebrating the traditional holiday of Dia de Los Muertos. It is located in downtown Wichita Falls. The celebration happens the Saturday before or on November 2nd. Each year we commision local artists to show their talents with a Dia de Los Muertos flair. Highlights include Aztec Dancers, Altar area for community participation, and dedicated procession for the families of altar participants during the festival led by mariachi and Aztec dancers.We pride ourselves on the family culture of this festival!
An annual free outdoor festival celebrating the Mexican Army victory over the French Army at the Batte of Puebla. The Festival focuses on highlighting local Mexican music artists and providing a platform for Hispanic-owned businesses and artists to introduce their products and services to the greater community. Partnerships include the Mexican American Veterans Association. (M.A.V.A.) Orale!
Having a platform to showcase their work is one the biggest issues a latino artist has. Festival de Cine Latino, a 501c3 non-profit, is an annual event showcasing award winning Latino films and actors that meet certain criteria set by FDCLA. This event is free so grab the free popcorn and enjoy some amazing films!
Downtown Artwalk is a monthly event held April to October on the first Thursday of each month. Open to the community this event highlights local artists and musicians. Potencia Projects hosts local non-profits at our downtown location. Grab a elote or agua fresca, buy some local art and take a stroll downtown at this family event.
Zumba Under the Stars is an annual fundraiser for the Zavala International Dancers held at our Downtown location. Zavala International is a local folklorico dance group that aims to continue the traditions of regional Mexican dances.
Fiesta Charra is a annual event consisting of demonstrations of traditional Charreada activities including traditional dress and horsemanship performances based on the animal husbandry practices in the Haciendas of Old Mexico. Located in the Lewisville Rodeo Arena, this event includes Hispanic vendors and outdoor concert. Admission is free with $5 parking.
Downtown Movies at the market is a family friendly movie night held monthly from October to March at the Downtown Farmers market. Movies are shown the last Friday of each month.
